Blues shutout streak ends at 258:29

The St. Louis Blues allowed a first-period goal to the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, keeping St. Louis from an NHL record-tying fifth consecutive shutout.
The Blues shutout streak ended at 258:29 when Mikhail Grigorenko scored against goalie Brian Elliott at 18:12 of the period. St. Louis had not allowed a goal since the Edmonton Oilers scored into an empty net March 16.

"It's almost like the pressure is off now," said Elliott, who was in net for three of the shutouts and didn't allow a goal for 193:12. "You let the goal in and you can move on from the streak and start another one. It was a [heck of a] run; the guys played great and they continued tonight. Obviously, in this league, you're going to let in a couple goals. All the credit to our guys and our team game."
The Phoenix Coyotes hold the modern record of five consecutive shutouts, from Dec. 31, 2003-Jan. 9, 2004. Brian Boucher was the goaltender for the entirety of that streak (306:15).
St. Louis got three straight shutouts from Elliott before Jake Allen added the fourth Saturday against the Washington Capitals. Elliott was in goal Tuesday.
The modern record for scoreless time is held by the Montreal Canadiens (309:37, 1948-49).
