DALLAS - We're one day away from the start of the 2018 NHL Draft, where the Sabres are slated to make the first overall selection. Sabres.com is in Dallas to set you up for everything that's happening in the Lone Star State leading up to Round 1.
Here's what you need to know.

Take it away, Duffer

It's Media Day in Dallas today so the top prospects will start their day by participating in a youth hockey clinic with a bunch of local kids the Stars practice facility this morning. Be sure to check out Sabres social media for a look into what Rasmus Dahlin, Andrei Svechnikov, Filip Zadina, Brady Tkachuk, Noah Dobson and Evan Bouchard will be up to.
Then the prospects will sit down for some interviews and we'll have recaps of all of that for you at our Draft Central page.

And while Pominville and Botterill look back, your favorite Sabres alumni are excited to look ahead at the opportunity to pick first overall. We checked in with Danny Gare, Rene Robert, Jay McKee and Rob Ray at the annual fishing derby:

Don't make any other plans on Oct. 4 because you'll want to be inside KeyBank Center when the Sabres host the Boston Bruins that night.
The remainder of the schedule will be announced as part of a league-wide reveal on NHL Network beginning at 5 p.m.
