Jack Eichel made sure that the nurses of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center had an extra special Nurses Week.

The Buffalo Sabres captain sent 450 bouquets of flowers to the hospital to mark the special occasion.
Eichel, whose mother was a nurse while he was growing up outside of Boston, also sent a heartfelt message on a printed card complete with signature.
"Nurses have always held a special place in my heart as I grew up watching my mom's dedication to caring for others as a nurse in Boston," Eichel's card read. "While this week is dedicated to celebrating the inspirational and compassionate work that you do every day for patients at Roswell Park, know that I am grateful to you for your tireless work day in and day out. These flowers are a symbol of my appreciation and admiration for the important work you do for everyone in WNY touched by cancer. Happy Nurses Week!"
