NEW YORK/TORONTO (Dec. 15, 2016) - Multi-platinum recording artist Bryan Adams, acclaimed Alt-rock chart toppers Arkells and Canadian country rock group Cold Creek County will provide the musical entertainment for the 2017 Scotiabank NHL Centennial Classic™, the much-anticipated Original Six™ rivalry game between the Detroit Red Wings® and Toronto Maple Leafs® on Sunday, Jan. 1 at Exhibition Stadium (170 Princes' Boulevard, Toronto), the National Hockey League announced today. The outdoor game will broadcast live nationally on Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada and on NBC in the U.S. at 3 p.m. ET.

A Grammy and JUNO Award winner, Adams will perform during the first intermission of the Red Wings and Maple Leafs game. Adams' career includes an extensive catalogue of rock standards, from "Run to You" to "Summer of 69" to "Cuts Like a Knife" as well as new material from his 13th studio album, GET UP. A portion of his performance will be broadcast. In addition, Adams will be the featured performer at the NHL and MLSE's private New Year's Eve Centennial Celebration presented by Molson Canadian.
Prior to fans filing into Exhibition Stadium on New Year's Day, Arkells will perform their hits and new music from their latest album,
MORNING REPORT
. The PreGame Concert presented by SiriusXM featuring Arkells will be held in Parking Lot 2 at 1 p.m. ET. A game ticket will be required to access The PreGame, the fan festival featuring the NHL Centennial Fan Arena, interactive hockey-themed attractions, live music, prizes and giveaways, food and beverages, and more. A portion of the band's performance will be featured in the game broadcast.
During the second intermission, Cold Creek County will perform a special rendition of the Stompin' Tom Connors classic, "The Hockey Song."
BaAM, the Toronto-based creative production company, will produce the pregame and in-game performances and celebrations. Full details on the game day celebration for the 2017 Scotiabank NHL Centennial Classic™ will be announced at a later date.

Cold Creek County are Ontario's Brandon Scott (lead vocals/acoustic guitar), drummer Doug Oliver (formerly from My Darkest Days), Josh Lester and Justin Lester, sons of bluegrass master Emory Lester on guitar/vocals and bass/vocals, lead guitarist Trevor MacLeod and Jordan Honsinger on 5 string banjo.
