Michael Dal Colle (first period) and Josh Bailey (third period) scored power-play goals for the Islanders, who finished the preseason 5-2-0. Vladislav Namestnikov (first period) and Tony DeAngelo (third period) scored for the Rangers, who finished the preseason 2-4-0. The Islanders open the regular season against the Washington Capitals on Oct. 4. The Rangers open the regular season against the Winnipeg Jets on Oct. 3.
