Patrick gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead with 1:04 remaining in the second period. Voracek grabbed a loose puck at center, cut wide around Devils defenseman Will Butcher, entered the zone, and centered the puck to Patrick.
"He's one of the only guys that can make plays like that," Patrick said. "When you play with him, you've got to go to the net, put your stick on the ice and he'll find you."
Boyle scored 2:25 into the third period to tie it 2-2. The goal was upheld after a coach's challenge for goaltender interference.
"The way we need to play is a relentless game," Boyle said. "We need to be the hardest working team on the ice every night to give ourselves the best chance. It's got to be our bread and butter. You've got to be emotionally invested too. You can't be casual."
Philadelphia changed their top two defense pairs and allowed its fewest shot on goal this season (21). Provorov skated with Robert Hagg; his usual partner, Shayne Gostisbehere, was with Christian Folin. The Flyers had been allowing 31.1 shots per game.
"We needed to change something after a game like last game against [the Columbus Blue Jackets] (a 6-3 loss on Thursday), and I guess it was a good change if we won," said Provorov, who had two assists and was plus-2.
