It's the most paw-some day of the year!

NHL teams took to Twitter to show some puppy love on National Puppy Day on Wednesday. The Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets and Detroit Red Wings posted pictures of players with their furry friends.

The Buffalo Sabres posted their team dog Rick and the New York Islanders posted their dog Monte.

The New Jersey Devils had the most fun with the trend posting puppy lookalikes of their players.
