Coyotes claim Sekac off waivers

Forward had one assist in six games with Blackhawks this season @NHLdotcom

The Arizona Coyotes claimed forward Jiri Sekac off waivers Saturday from the Chicago Blackhawks.

Sekac, 23, had one assist in six games this season with the Blackhawks, who acquired him from the Anaheim Ducks on Jan. 21 for forward Ryan Garbutt.


He will join the Coyotes in Pittsburgh for their game against the Penguins on Monday, according to the Arizona Republic.

Sekac had one goal and three points in 22 games this season with the Ducks.

He split the 2014-15 season, his first in the NHL, between the Montreal Candiens (50 games) and Ducks (19 games). Sekac had nine goals and 23 points in 69 games
