Stars holding Hockey Fights Cancer Night

The Dallas Stars, with support from Cigna, will hold their annual Hockey Fights Cancer Night on Friday against the Ottawa Senators. In honor of the 20th anniversary of HFC, players from the Dallas Stars and Ottawa Senators will participate in a special salute on the blueline prior to the start of the game. As a part of the league-wide initiative, all members of the Dallas Stars coaching staff will wear Hockey Fights Cancer ties on the bench during the game and Dallas Stars players will wear lavender jerseys during warmups and use lavender stick tape. The Dallas Stars Foundation will be raising money by auctioning off the jerseys and sticks used during warmups by Stars players. Fans will be given the opportunity to create "I'm Fighting For" cards, an acknowledgement that we are all connected to this disease, and we fight together. Jerseys and sticks used in during warmup will be available for bidding online by visiting auctions.nhl.com.

The Senate is out of session

The Dallas Stars meet the Ottawa Senators on Friday night at American Airlines Center for the second of two games during the 2018-19 campaign. Dallas is riding five-game winless skid vs. Ottawa (0-3-2) and looking to record a victory against the Senators for the first time since March 6, 2016 (W, 2-1 at Canadian Tire Centre). In the first game of the season series, the Senators defeated the Stars, 4-1, on Oct. 15, 2018. Defenseman John Klingberg potted the lone goal (1-0=1) for the Stars with forwards Jason Spezza (0-1=1) and Alexander Radulov (0-1=1) adding assists. On special teams, the Stars were 1-of-4 on the power play and were a perfect 2-for-2 on the penalty kill. On home ice, the Stars have gone winless in the last three games (0-2-1) to the Senators, which is the club's longest active home losing streak to any NHL club (last win: 5-4, Jan. 13, 2015). Last season at American Airlines Center on March 5, 2018, Ottawa defeated Dallas in overtime, 3-2. Center Tyler Seguin potted both of the team's goals (2-0=2). Three Stars players added an assist including Radulov (0-1=1) and Mattias Janmark (0-1=1) and Klingberg (0-1=1).
