Teddy bear tosses are a great minor league hockey holiday tradition, and the Hershey Bears edition on Saturday featured some enormous stuffed animals, one of which needed several people to get it over the glass.

It was really more of a teddy bear heave, rather than a toss, but amazing just the same.
You can see the giant bear working its way down through the stands around 4:40 and all of the hard work it took to get it on the ice.

After Garrett Mitchell scored
the first Hershey goal of the game at 15:02 of the first period, the stuffed animals went flying.
The Calgary Hitmen
, Grand Rapids Griffins, Bakersfield Condors and Erie Otters held similar events this season.

With the help of volunteers, the Bears collected a franchise record 20,662 stuffed animals (topping last year's record of 18,115) for more than 30 central Pennsylvania charities. One generous fan, Jeff Sweigart, also offered to donate $1 for every bear the team got in the toss.
That's a lot of bears and a lot of dollars, and one lucky kid who's going to get a new gargantuan furry friend.
