Garnet Hathaway PHI fined for kneeing

NEW YORK -- Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for kneeing Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski during NHL Game No. 11 in Columbus on Thursday, Oct. 12, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 14:14 of the second period. Hathaway was assessed a minor penalty for kneeing.

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
