Danton Heinen scored his third goal of the preseason and then in the shootout to help the Boston Bruins defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in a preseason game Saturday.
Jake DeBrusk scored the deciding shootout goal. David Pastrnak scored twice for Boston, including the goal that made it 3-3 with 3:12 remaining in the second period. David Backes had three assists playing his first game for the Bruins.
Jordan Weal and Brayden Schenn scored in the second period to give Philadelphia a 3-2 lead. Weal also scored to start the shootout. Sean Couturier tied the game 1-1 with a goal at 8:54 of the first period.
Malcolm Subban made 29 saves for Boston. Michal Neuvirth made 25 saves for Philadelphia.
