Forward Andrew Ladd and defenseman Thomas Hickey are expected to return from lengthy injuries for the Islanders, who are opening a five-game homestand and are two points ahead of the Washington Capitals for first place in the Metropolitan Division. Ladd sustained a lower-body injury Nov. 13; Hickey has been out since Dec. 17 because of an upper-body injury. Each was activated off long-term injured reserve Tuesday.
