BostonBruins.com - Bruins prospect and Notre Dame standout Anders Bjork is one of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, presented annually to the nation's top college hockey player.
The list was selected after voting by all 60 Division 1 head coaches, as well as online fan balloting. An additional round of voting will be held before three finalists are announced on March 30. The winner will be chosen on April 7 at the Frozen Four in Chicago.

Bjork, a junior captain for the Fighting Irish, paces Notre Dame with 47 points (19 goals, 28 assists) in 35 games. He is 11th in the nation in scoring and has five game-winning goals. Bjork registered three assists over two games during last weekend's Hockey East quarterfinal series with Providence College, helping to lift Notre Dame to the semis against UMass-Lowell.
The 2014 fifth-round pick is also a finalist for the Hockey Humanitarian Award for
his volunteer work at Perley Fine Arts Academy in South Bend, Indiana.

JFK Grabs Honor; BU Sweeps

Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson, a 2013 second-round pick, picked up his second Hockey East Player of the Week honor of the season. The sophomore center factored into all three goals (goal, two assists) in Boston University's 3-2 comeback win over Northeastern Saturday, which clinched a two-game sweep in the Hockey East quarterfinals.
Charlie McAvoy, last year's 14th overall pick, picked up four assists - three on Saturday night - during the series. BU will take on Boston College in the semis.

College Tourneys Underway

Harvard sophomore Ryan Donato notched an assist in the Crimson's ECAC quarterfinal series win over rival Yale. He had a team-high eight shots on goal in Game 1 and led Harvard with six more shots on net in Game 2. Defenseman Wiley Sherman added an assist in Harvard's win in Game 1. Harvard will take on Quinnipiac in the semifinals on Friday.
Ryan Fitzgerald had a goal and an assist during Boston College's two-game sweep of Vermont in the Hockey East quarters.

Marching On

Soo Greyhounds forward and 2015 first-round pick Zach Senyshyn has four goals and two assists in five games dating back to March 3, while fellow 2015 first-rounder Jakub Zboril has four assists for the Saint John Seadogs over his last five games.
Prince George forward Jesse Gabrielle has four goals and five assists in his last five games. Rouyn-Noranda defenseman Jeremy Lauzon has a goal and three assists, to go along with a plus-11 rating, during the month of March.
