Patrice Bergeron of Bruins day to day

BOSTON -- Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron missed practice Friday with a leg injury but has not been ruled out to play against the Toronto Maple Leafs at TD Garden on Saturday (7 p.m. ET, CBC, CITY, NESN, NHL.TV).
Bergeron was injured Wednesday when a slap shot by Washington Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen hit him in the right leg at 2:28 of the third period of a 5-3 loss. Bergeron left the game briefly before returning but was limited to two shifts.

"When we say he's day to day, he's doing really well," coach Claude Julien said. "So I'm certainly not erasing from our lineup tomorrow."
Goaltender Tuukka Rask also didn't practice, but general manager Don Sweeney said Rask was taking a maintenance day. Julien said he expects Rask to start against the Maple Leafs. Rask injured his groin making a save on Alex Ovechkin at 17:35 of the third period Wednesday.
The Bruins, who had won three in a row until their loss to Washington, will begin a four-game homestand against the Maple Leafs but have four days off between that game and their next one against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.
Boston is third in the Atlantic Division with 58 points, three points ahead of Toronto, but the Maple Leafs have five games in hand. The Florida Panthers, who have 54 points, have three games in hand.
