Arizona State University had a little help debuting its new hockey uniforms.

Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews took a liking to the new threads in a video clip shared by the school Thursday.

In the spot, Matthews, who is from Scottsdale, Arizona, is shown entering the athletic facility and grabbing a custom-made No. 34 jersey with his name on the back.
Matthews takes to the ice to try out the new look, which is, objectively, pretty great. The jersey in the ad is the Gold Heritage adizero by adidas.

Perhaps inspired by his new gear, Matthews does a few tricks with the puck before he is interrupted by Sun Devils equipment manager Jon Laughner.

Eddie Lack, a veteran of five NHL seasons who recently joined the Arizona State staff as a volunteer goaltending coach, clearly liked Laughner's acting.

Arizona State is set to sport the new look for
its season opener against Mercyhurst University on Oct. 5
