NEW YORK - Vancouver Canucks forward Antoine Roussel has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Nashville Predators defenseman Yannick Weber during NHL Game No. 864 in Vancouver on Monday, Feb. 10, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 18:06 of the third period. Roussel was assessed a minor penalty for slashing, plus a minor penalty for cross-checking and a 10-minute misconduct.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
