The Dallas Stars close out the regular season Saturday against Minnesota and then it's onto the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs. It was a long grind to secure that postseason berth -- six months of tough hockey in a league where there isn't much that separates teams on most nights.
And it was a satisfying feeling once that spot was locked up after Tuesday's 6-2 win over Philadelphia.
"I am very proud," said Stars captain Jamie Benn. "You go through a lot throughout a season with this group of guys in here, and it's been a complete team effort from top to bottom, the coaches right down to the bottom. It's fun to come to the rink and battle with these guys and be able to compete and win.
"When you are getting results, it's a lot of fun."
