BOSTON - Get your highlighters ready.
The National Hockey League announced on Friday the 2018-19 regular season schedule. On Wednesday, it was revealed that the Bruins will open the season on Oct. 3 in Washington D.C. against the defending Stanley Cup champion Capitals.
There are plenty of notable games on the schedule, including the matchups with last season's playoff foes, the Maple Leafs and Lightning, the first game against last year's upstart Vegas Golden Knights, and the 2019 Winter Classic against Chicago.
Here are some exciting ones to look forward to:

Oct. 3 at Washington (7:30 p.m. ET, Capital One Arena)

As the saying goes, to be the best you have to beat the best. The Bruins will get the first shot at taking down the defending Stanley Cup champions when they face-off against Washington in the nation's capital.
With the Capitals' banner raising ceremony pregame, the B's face an early test up against a frenzied home crowd.

Oct. 8 vs. Ottawa (1 p.m. ET, TD Garden)

The B's faithful will have their first opportunity to see the Bruins in the friendly confines of TD Garden when the team takes the ice for a Columbus Day matinee against the division-rival Ottawa Senators.

The Bruins' oldest rival comes to Boston for the first of four regular-season meetings.

Nov. 3 at Nashville (8 p.m. ET, Bridgestone Arena)

The Maple Leafs will come to Boston for the first time since the Bruins defeated them in a thrilling Game 7 to conclude the first round of the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Nov. 11 vs. Vegas (7 p.m. ET, TD Garden)

The last time the Bruins hosted the Golden Knights, Vegas was a fledgling franchise just 12 regular-season games into its existence. After an extraordinary run the Stanley Cup Final, the B's will not be taking the defending Western Conference Champions lightly.

Dec. 6 at Tampa Bay (7:30 p.m. ET, Amalie Arena)

B's fans looking to exact some revenge on the team that eliminated the Bruins from last year's playoffs, the Tampa Bay Lightning, will have to wait until December for the two division rivals to meet for the first time.
After dropping last season's second-round playoff series in five games, the Bruins will undoubtedly be fired up to go to battle.

Jan. 1 at Chicago (12 p.m. ET, Notre Dame Stadium)

Two Original Six franchises square off in the 2019 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, as the Bruins will take on the Chicago Blackhawks. The game will be the B's third Winter Classic and the fourth for Chicago.

The Cup champs make their first trip to TD Garden in January.

Apr. 6 vs. Tampa Bay (12:30 p.m. ET, TD Garden)
