Down 3-1 early in the second period of Friday's matchup vs. the Devils, the Lightning reeled off five unanswered goals to storm back and claim a 6-3 victory at the Prudential Center in Newark.

Steven Stamkos and Alex Killorn scored goals 41 seconds apart late in the second period to tie the game just before intermission.
In the third, the fast strike offense continued, with the Bolts firmly taking control courtesy of three goals in a span of 3:04.
Andrei Vasilevskiy gave up three goals on the first 10 shots he faced but settled in to stop the each of the next 15 and earn the win.
The victory completes Tampa Bay's stretch of three-consecutive COVID rescheduled games. After dropping last Thursday's contest in Colorado, the Lightning have now won two-straight over Arizona and now New Jersey.
The Lightning continue to trend in the right direction on the injury front as well. Erik Cernak returned to the lineup for the first time after missing the last nine games with a lower-body injury.
Tampa Bay now heads home to face another extended layoff. With all of their COVID postponements now behind them, the Bolts won't be back in action until next Wednesday when they host the Oilers.

8:27 Dawson Mercer (11) - Jack Hughes, Yegor Sharangovich
The Lightning found themselves down a goal on an odd play just past the midway point of the first period. Erik Cernak had the puck at the side of the net and looked to be trying to clear it away, but Jack Hughes pressured him, causing the puck to slip past an unprepared Andrei Vasilevskiy at the near post. Dawson Mercer was credited with the goal because he was the last Devil to touch the puck.

9:05 Pat Maroon (8) - Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Corey Perry
It only took the Lightning 38 seconds to respond and tie the game at one. Pierre-Edouard Bellemare forced P.K. Subban into a turnover and fed Pat Maroon in the slot. Maroon's initial shot was blocked, but the rebound found its way back to him and he scored on the second chance.

A late Yegor Sharangovich power play goal put the Devils back in front just before intermission. Dawson Mercer stripped the puck from Victor Hedman and worked it to Tomas Tatar at the right circle. Tatar then found Sharangovich open on the opposite side of the ice, and he snapped a shot past Andrei Vasilevskiy's glove
2nd Period
NJD 3, TBL 1
1:48 Jack Hughes (14) - Unassisted
Cal Foote lost control of the puck at the point, giving New Jersey a 2-on-1 down low. Jack Hughes took advantage of a wide-open left wing and drove to the front of the net. Vasilevskiy stopped his first shot, but Hughes followed up on his own rebound to put the Devils ahead 3-1.
NJD 3, TBL 2
15:32 Steven Stamkos (23) - Nikita Kucherov, Jan Rutta

NJD 3, TBL 3
16:13 Alex Killorn (16) - Mikhail Sergachev, Victor Hedman
Alex Killorn followed 41 seconds later with a goal off a deflection to tie the game at three. With Anthony Cirelli firmly positioned in front providing a screen, Killorn got his stick on Mikhail Sergachev's point shot, causing it to change direction on Gillies.
3rd Period
7:17 Victor Hedman (11) - Corey Perry, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare
Hedman started the third period onslaught with eventual game-winning goal at 7:17. Tampa Bay cycled the puck to Hedman at the left point and he wound up a slap shot that Gillies couldn't keep out.
9:14 Nikita Kucherov (7) - Brayden Point
Brayden Point sprung Nikita Kucherov on a breakaway with a feed to the far blue line. Gillies didn't even have time to get down before Kuchover slipped a shot under his pad.
10:21 Pierre-Edouard Bellemare (6) - Corey Perry, Pat Maroon
Pierre-Edouard Bellemare's goal stretched the Lightning's lead to three and effecitvely put the game out of reach. Corey Perry did all the work on the play, firing an initial shot that slipped through Gillies and sat on the goal line. Perry then circled the net and tapped the puck free for Bellemare to finally jam over the line.
