SEATTLE, Wash. - March 21, 2022 - Today, the Seattle Kraken (@SeattleKraken) announced that they have acquired forward Daniel Sprong, a 2022 fourth-round draft pick and a 2023 sixth-round draft pick from the Washington Capitals in exchange for forward Marcus Johansson. The move gives Seattle 25 picks in the next two entry drafts.
"We appreciate Marcus' character and professionalism during his time with the Kraken and wish him well in Washington," said Francis. "Daniel brings some speed and creativity to our roster and we're looking forward to adding him to our team."

Sprong, who stands at six-foot, 193 pounds, has totaled 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in 47 games played for the Capitals this season. His 47 games played are his second-highest total and his 14 points are the third-most of his career. The Amsterdam, Netherlands native was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round (46th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft and has totaled 64 points (40 goals, 24 assists) in 186 games played.
Johansson recorded 23 points (six goals, 17 assists) in 51 games this season. He signed with the Kraken as a free agent on Aug. 6, 2021.
