This feature event will be a rematch of the 2022 Winter Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Gold Medal Game, which was won by Team Canada in a hotly contested matchup. Dating back decades, this is one of the greatest and deep-rooted rivalries in sports history with both teams meeting in over 150 battles for victory. Currently, Team Canada leads the rivalry, with 84 wins over the U.S.'s 67.
"We're excited to partner with the Seattle Kraken to bring the best in women's hockey to the great city of Seattle," said Pat Kelleher, executive director of USA Hockey. "The Kraken are incredibly supportive of all levels of the sport, and I know fans will enjoy watching the top players in the world compete."
Kraken Youth Hockey Player Development Coach and former Captain of Colgate Women's Hockey Team, Katelyn Parker said, "We're honored to host these amazing teams here in Seattle for a matchup that is sure to live up to their decades-long rivalry. It's encouraging to continue to see the growth of girls' and women's hockey and we hope that getting a chance to see women's hockey at this caliber will be a source of inspiration for young girls in the Pacific Northwest."
Notable past participants include Jessica Campbell, assistant coach of the Kraken's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate-the Coachella Valley Firebirds- who played in the 2014 series as a member of Team Canada.
Throughout the weekend before the game, there will be multiple opportunities for fans and youth hockey players to engage with the teams including open practices, meet and greets, and girls' skills clinics. The team will also participate in a ceremonial puck drop at the Seattle Kraken game the day before. More details will be announced in the fall.
Tickets start at $25 and will be available for general on-sale on Wednesday, August 10th. Tickets can be purchased via
