While not a recommendation to replace the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, football on the screen or, especially, turkey and the trimmings (don't forget the pumpkin pie!), Kraken fans will want to put the team's Fansgiving 2020 livestream on the menu. OK, well, maybe not livestream at this point. The show debuted Friday late afternoon but is available to boost your socially distant holiday

Fansgiving 2020
But along with the recipes and Kraken team broadcaster Everett Fitzhugh's professional debut as a cooking show host (hey, that crisp qualifies and tune in to see if Fitz made Mama Fitzhugh proud on her, wait for it, birthday), the Fansgiving show features get-to-know interview sessions with new head strength and conditioning coach Nate Brooksreson and senior quantitative analyst Namita Nandakumar.
Both Kraken staffers reveal lots of fun personal details for fans: Brookreson, his wife and two sons, 8 and 6) just criss-crossed the country from Raleigh, N.C. to Seattle on a memorable 10-day road trip. Nandakumar, who joined the Kraken from the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles, talks about how many games will be needed to win the NFC East division (hint: not many) and no booing because Russell Wilson is one of her favorite quarterbacks. What's more, Brookreson makes the crisp recipe from his in-laws' kitchen in Puyallup and Nandakumar mixes "The Perfect Storm" cocktail while conducting the Q-and-A with Fitzhugh.
A couple of recent Stanley Cup winners with the Washington Capitals in 2018, new Kraken head trainer Mike Booi and new head video analyst Tim Ohashi, joined the show in a joint interview to compare notes on moving across the country to the "better Washington" and how many goosebumps they experienced on Cup-winning night after what Ohashi called some "heartbreaking" seasons and Booi described as pure joy after a career with "some good teams and no-so-good teams" during his years in the East Coast Hockey League and American Hockey League before breaking in the NHL. There's more, such as why Tim Ohashi's dad is a legend with Capitals players (particularly Tom Wilson), but you will have to tune into the show for the goods on that story.

NHL Seattle hosts inaugural Fansgiving dinner

No Fansgiving is complete without some interaction with the bosses of Kraken hockey operations. Last year, it was assistant GM Ricky Olczyk and director of hockey research and strategy Alexandra Mandrycky. This November, GM Francis and new director for amateur scouting Robert Kron joined the fun.
The two former NHL players have worked together as teammates in Carolina and then in the front office, including a total of 35 seasons on the ice. Kron fills in fans on the scouting process during the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic and Francis imagines the fan reaction and noise of opening night for the first regular-season game. Plus, Francis talks about why a good bottle of, wait--you will have to watch to find out-can make the meal. It's all must-see video and vintage Kraken Fansgiving.
