SEATTLE -- Oct 29, 2021 -- The Seattle Kraken today announced Nov. 6 as the opening date for
32 Bar & Grill
, its upscale sports bar inside Kraken Community Iceplex. The restaurant will be open daily from 11 to 1 a.m. and is located on the west side of the Iceplex. During the restaurant's opening week, guests will have the chance to receive a variety of giveaways.
The restaurant is owned and operated by the Seattle Kraken, with consult provided by Seattle-based restaurateur Mick McHugh. Ken Moriarty serves as Food & Beverage Director, while Brandon Cathey serves as the Kraken's Executive Chef, spearheading menus both for the restaurant and Kraken players.

32 Bar & Grill will be hockey-centric and will host watch parties for Kraken games, but fans will be able to cheer on Seattle's other beloved teams as well. With a nod to FX McRory's, the restaurant aims to serve everyone in the sports-minded community. The menu will consist of quality, locally sourced food and drink. Highlights of the restaurant include:
"32 Bar & Grill will offer the ultimate Kraken hockey atmosphere," said Rob Lampman, general manager of Kraken Community Iceplex. "The views into two of our rinks are unmatched, and we've put together an incredible team to deliver top quality experiences. Whether they're grabbing drinks with teammates after a Kraken Hockey League game or meeting friends for a bite before taking the Light Rail to Climate Pledge Arena, we're confident our guests will have a great time."
Mick McHugh, Consultant
Born and raised in Capitol Hill, Mick began his career by opening a coffeehouse in 1963 while studying business at Seattle University. He has opened 16 Seattle restaurants over 58 years, including F.X. McRory's in 1977. Among his many accolades is a Guinness Book of World Records for the world's largest collection of spirits in one bar (the former Jake O' Shaughnessey's in lower Queen Anne). Mick also uses his skills at St. James Cathedral, serving as Director of the Cathedral Kitchen.
Ken Moriarty, Food & Beverage Director
Ken was introduced to the hospitality business interning for Seattle restaurateur Victor Rosellini, eventually managing various departments in his restaurants. After Rosellini retired, Ken began working for yet another Seattle restaurateur, Mick McHugh, managing some of his iconic restaurants and off-premise catering operations. In 1999, Ken formed Classic Catering, providing his signature food and beverage offerings and hospitality to top companies in Seattle and managing some of the largest festivals in the Pacific Northwest for 21 years.
Brandon Cathey, Executive Chef
Brandon's love for food was kindled in his youth while making rolled tacos with his grandmother in Tucson, Arizona. He started working in professional kitchens while still in high school and was determined to be a chef. He has worked at numerous resorts and hotels and has always had a personal passion for healthful eating and responsible farming practices. During his time at Miraval Resort and Spa in Arizona, he designed and built a biodynamic farm with an apiary to showcase a more natural approach to farming. Prior to opening The Charter Hotel in Seattle, he traveled to Argentina to study sustainable cattle ranches and implemented a whole animal butcher shop at the hotel.
