The LA Kings will open the
2018-19 season
against the San Jose Sharks on Friday, October 5 at STAPLES Center.

The highly-anticipated game will be the debut of Ilya Kovalchuk's return to the NHL and first game as a member of the Kings. Plus, it's the first chance to see the final Kings roster in action.
With so much going on at STAPLES Center, we've summarized everything you need to know about the night below.

Every fan in attendance will receive an LA Kings Limited Edition Collectible Art Print Giveaway presented by McDonald's.
The art print was custom designed for this game by artist Cuyler Smith, and will be one of four art prints in a special series throughout the season.

On gameday, the following radio stations will be giving away tickets:
See the LA Kings Walk the "Black Carpet"
Before the game, around 4 p.m., fans can watch the Kings players arrive at STAPLES Center! The players will walk the Black Carpet as they enter the building.
The pre-game event will be hosted by Michael Alexander and will feature live music by DJ Los from POWER 106 plus a chance to win tickets to the game.

Experience In-Arena Presentations
There are a few new surprises inside the arena as well, including new in-arena hosts Danny Hoyt, Joey Finiguerra and Kayla Knierim, who will entertaining and interacting with fans throughout the evening.
Crowd favorite Pia Toscano will be performing the national anthem, followed by special team and player introductions on the ice.
Be in your seats by 7:20 pm to watch the opening presentation!
Check Out the New Roster
The
opening night roster
is set and includes a few new faces. Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Austin Wagner, two young players who fought for a spot on the lineup, will compete in their first official NHL game.
And as mentioned, Ilya Kovalchuk will make his official debut in the NHL after five years playing in Russia. How will he and the rest of the LA Kings compete against the Sharks, and their newest member, Erik Karlsson? Be there to find out.
