Brodzinski, Kempe, LaDue Assigned to Ontario Reign

The LA Kings have assigned forwards Jonny Brodzinski and Adrian Kempe, and defenseman Paul LaDue to the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

The 23-year-old Brodzinski (born June 19, 1993) is a 6-1, 218-pound native of Ham Lake, Minn. who appeared in six games with the Kings, tallying two points (0-2=2), a plus-2 rating and two penalty minutes. He appeared in his first NHL game, March 25 against the New York Rangers and recorded his first NHL point (assist) as part of a two-point night (0-2=2), April 4 against the Edmontonm Oilers.

Brodzinski appeared in 56 games earlier this season with Ontario, posting 47 points (25-22=47), a plus-6 rating and 12 penalty minutes. At the time of his recall, Brodzinski ranked first on the team in goals, points and power play goals (9), and fourth on the team in assists.
The 20-year-old Kempe (born Sep. 13, 1996) is a 6-2, 202-pound native of Kramfors, Sweden who appeared in 25 games for the Kings, recording six points (2-4=6) and six penalty minutes. He appeared in his first NHL game, Feb. 16 against the Arizona Coyotes, tallied his first NHL points (assist), Feb. 21 in Denever against the Colorado Avalanche, and scored his first NHL goal, March 11 versus the Washington Capitals.

Kempe appeared in 43 games earlier this season with Ontario, posting 19 points (11-8=19) and 38 penalty minutes. At the time of his recall, Kempe ranked tied for second on the team in goals.
The 24-year-old LaDue (born Sept. 6, 1992) is a 6-2, 201-pound native of Grand Forks, N.D., who appeared in 22 games for the Kings, registering eight points (0-8=8) and four penalty minutes. He appeared in his first NHL game, Feb. 7 on the road against the Tampa Bay Lightning and tallied his first NHL point (assist) in his next game on Feb. 9 against the Florida Panthers.

LaDue appeared in 37 games earlier this year with Ontario, posting 18 points (6-12=18) and 26 penalty minutes. At the time of his recall he ranked tied for first in goals and third in assists among team defensemen. Among AHL rookie defensemen he ranked fifth in goals, tied for ninth in points and tied for second in power play goals (four; tied for 10th among all AHL defensemen).
