WHEELER CLOSING IN ON 500
Blake Wheeler had one assist on Tuesday in Ottawa and is one assist shy of 500 assists for his NHL career. The Jets all-time leading scorer would become the 18th active player to reach 500 career assists. Since 2016-17, Wheeler ranks third in the NHL with 232 helpers.

REUNITED
Kyle Connor found his way back on the top line with Wheeler and Mark Scheifele about halfway through the game Tuesday night in Ottawa and the magic returned quickly. He scored a power play goal towards the end of the second period and was on the ice when the Jets tied the game at 18:43 of the third. Connor has a goal in every game so far this season for Winnipeg.
COPP SHOWING OFFENSIVE SIDE
Andrew Copp assisted on the game winning goal in overtime on Tuesday and fit in nicely with Paul Stastny and Nikolaj Ehlers as well. He's made a considerable effort to work on the offensive side of his game while remaining a consistent defensive player.
"Still finding that rhythm and that groove though three games in," said Copp on Wednesday.
"Hopefully we can start finishing on those chances and continue to create for whatever line mates I have."
VILLE'S BACK
After an impressive performance at the World Juniors in Edmonton where he helped Finland win bronze, Ville Heinola will make his 2021 season debut with the Jets. The Finn will play on the left side along with Josh Morrissey. Heinola had a goal and four assists in seven games with Winnipeg last season.
Sami Niku will come out of the lineup.
PK NEEDS SOME WORK
Three games into the season, Winnipeg has struggled with the penalty kill giving up two more goals while shorthanded in the 4-3 OT win over the Sens. The Jets have given up at least one power play goal in every contest.
