The New York Islanders earned a critical two points in a 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night, leapfrogging their Metropolitan Division foes for the first wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Brock Nelson (2G), Bo Horvat (1G, 1A) and Anders Lee (GWG) powered the offense for the Islanders, while Jake Guentzel and Jason Zucker recorded the pair of goals for the Penguins. Zach Parise handed out two assists in the win.
Ilya Sorokin made 44 saves in the victory at PPG Paints Arena. Tristan Jarry made 28 saves in his return from injury.
