The New York Islanders held their second scrimmage of training camp on Tuesday morning, featuring the players who are not suiting up for the
preseason game against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night.

The players dressed in game jerseys and were split up between Team White and Team Blue. Goaltenders Ilya Sorokin and Jon Gillies rotated between teams while Jakub Skarek played for Team White.
Team Blue claimed the eventual victory with a 5-2 result over Team White.
NOTABLE LINES AND PAIRINGS
Some notable lines for Team Blue featured a trio of Kyle MacLean (undrafted) alongside Mathew Barzal and Leo Komarov and another line of Simon Holmstrom (2019 first rounder, 23rd overall) Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Zach Parise.
On defense, Ryan Pulock was paired with Erik Gustafsson and Zdeno Chara skated alongside Mitchell Vande Sompel.
For Team White, an intriguing threesome as prospect Arnaud Durandeau (2017 sixth rounder, 165th overall) on the left wing of Brock Nelson and Josh Bailey, while prospect Reece Newkirk (2019 fifth rounder, 147th overall) skated alongside Casey Cizikas and Cal Clutterbuck. The philosophy seemed to match Head Coach Barry Trotz's goal of putting a younger player with a pair of established veterans.
GAME SUMMARY
Team Blue got off to a quick 1-0 lead in the first period - with the only goal of the period - courtesy of Parise.
Durandeau set up Team White's equalizer as Nelson scored to make it 1-1 early in the middle frame, but Team Blue responded the following shift as Parise notched his second goal of the scrimmage to restore his team's lead at 2-1. Team Blue cushioned its lead up to 4-1 to complete the three-goal second-period effort as Barzal scored on the fly and Pageau finished off some work set up by Parise.
Early in the third period, prospect Collin Adams (2016 sixth rounder, 170th overall) furthered Team Blue's lead 5-1 as he potted a feed from Kieffer Bellows. Nelson cut Team White's lead down 5-2 as he scored the final goal of the scrimmage late in the third period.
