Lou Lamoriello called Andrew Ladd "day-to-day" on Thursday, providing an injury update on the Islanders forward.
Lamoriello said Ladd has skated on his own over the past week - though not in the last two days - but there is no timetable for his return. Lamoriello doesn't expect Ladd to be able to start the season on October 4, but said it's too early to consider placing him on IR.
"He has skated some days and felt better, the next day he didn't feel as good, so it'll be an ongoing process," Lamoriello said. "I don't think he'll be ready for the regular season simply because he hasn't been able to practice, but I don' think it'll be anything long term."

Ladd has not skated since Sept. 16, when he left the Islanders scrimmage at Northwell Health Ice Center.

Lamoriello also provided an update on injured Islanders goalie prospect Linus Soderstrom, who is currently rehabbing an injury with specialists in Sweden. Lamoriello said Soderstrom has not skated and expects the recover to "take a bit of time."
Soderstrom was slated to play his first season in North America with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers this year.
