The New York Islanders take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second leg of their Opening Weekend back-to-back set at UBS Arena on Sunday night.

In their home opener - and the first game ever at UBS Arena - the Islanders dropped a 5-2 decision to the Calgary Flames. Brock Nelson scored both goals for the Islanders, including one on the power play. Semyon Varlamov made 26 saves on 29 shots. In their home opener, the Islanders were without Josh Bailey, Anders Lee, Ross Johnston, Adam Pelech, Andy Greene and Anthony Beauvillier, who were all placed in COVID-19 Protocol. They recalled Richard Panik, Grant Hutton, Robin Salo, Andy Andreoff and Paul LaDue from their AHL affiliate the Bridgeport Islanders.
Toronto had their five-game winning streak as they fell 2-0 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night. Jack Campbell made 29 saves on 31 shots in the loss.

Panik picked up an assist on Nelson's first goal and finished the night with two shots and three hits in 14:42. Salo played a team-high 21:42 and had a game-high four blocked shots. Andreoff skated 10:19 with a hit.
• Nelson scored his team-leading eighth and ninth goals of the season with his two-goal performance on Saturday night. The centerman leads the team in scoring with 11 points (9G, 2A).
• Varlamov made his third start of the season. He now has a 0-3-0 record, a 3.31 GAA and a .894 SV%. With Varlamov playing on Saturday, Ilya Sorokin is the likely starter on Sunday.
• The Islanders scored their sixth power-play goal of the season, courtesy of Nelson, who has two strikes on the power play through 14 games. The power play went 1-for-6 on Saturday and Nelson's goal snapped an 0-for-15 stretch for the man advantage.

• Campbell's record fell to 10-4-1 in the loss. Joseph Woll is the expected starter for Toronto on Sunday. Woll is 1-0-0 in his NHL career, picking up a win over Buffalo on Nov. 13
• Auston Matthews' five-game point streak came to an end with the loss against Pittsburgh. Matthews had totaled seven points (2G, 5A) during that stretch. The centerman has 15 points (7G, 8A) through 19 games with the Maple Leafs.
• Former Islander John Tavares leads Toronto in goals and points with eight goals and 16 points through 18 games.
• During the offseason, Toronto acquired forwards Michael Bunting, David Kampf, Ondrej Kase, Nick Ritchie and goaltender Petr Mrazek.
• Mrazek is currently on injured reserve with a groin injury. Ilya Mikheyev is also on IR with a broken thumb.
• The Leafs are ranked fourth in the NHL for the fewest goals against per game with a nightly average of 2.37.
• On special teams, Toronto's penalty kill ranks fourth in the league at 88.0%, while their power play is ranked seventh overall at 24.5%.
• In the faceoff circle, the Leafs boast the best FOW% in the NHL at 55.1%.
