6.16.26 Teets

RALEIGH, N.C. - Flights to Las Vegas are usually more lively than flights returning home from it.

Normally, on the way there, there's excitement and promise for what is anticipated to be a fun few days in the place they call Sin City. The way back is often filled with desire for dim lights and acetaminophen.

Monday's for the Carolina Hurricanes was more of the former, as their celebration spilled over from the night before, heading east following their Stanley Cup-winning victory over the Vegas Golden Knights.

The ride home was filled with reflections on the successful season that was and making plans for the few days ahead. With the official Championship Celebration presented by Spectrum set for Saturday, there's ample runway for more fun between now and then.

And one of the beautiful things about the City of Oaks is that if you're looking for a party, you're heading to one area and one area only — Glenwood Ave.

Ignited by a post on X from Jordan Martinook, the Caniacs were summoned to Teets, a local establishment owned by former Hurricane Bates Battaglia and his brother, Anthony. In under three hours' notice, a Monday night in the middle of June turned into full-blown pandemonium, including a shut-down street and a line hundreds deep around the corner.

Arriving in a pair of party buses, captain and Conn Smythe Trophy-winner Jordan Staal carried Lord Stanley into the function.

Each player took turns hoisting the Cup as they looked out onto the patrons waiting to get in, receiving a roar in return. Even General Manager Eric Tulsky took the 34.5-pound silver mug up onto the elevated surface.

Celebrating with friends and family, just as they did the night prior at Omnia Nightclub with DJ Pauly D, it was a scene only elevated once the Raleigh community joined in.

With sing-alongs to "Wagon Wheel" and "We Are The Champions", trade deadline acquisition Nic Deslauriers was the commander of the club, spending the latter half of his night split between atop the bar making important announcements and inside the DJ booth.

Fueled by brotherhood, beverages, and "Bus-si" chants, it was a night anyone in attendance will remember for a very long time.
