As "The Heart of the Carolina Hurricanes," the Kids 'N Community Foundation strives to meet the health and educational needs of underserved populations and strengthen youth hockey in our community through programming and financial assistance to local, youth-oriented organizations.
Since the establishment of the non-profit Foundation in 1997, over $14 million in cash has been awarded to non-profit organizations that focus on enhancing the lives of youth in our community. With the ongoing support of our annual special events, Hurricanes players, staff and the corporate community, the Kids 'N Community Foundation is able to fund many causes including scholarship programs, youth hockey initiatives, education and literacy efforts, health programs and the arts.
The Kids 'N Community Foundation awards monetary grants to qualified organizations with the fall Goal Grant, spring Game-Changer Grant and summer Future Canes Grant cycles each year. For more information and to see if you qualify, please click here.
Thanks to the support of players, coaches, front office staff, corporate sponsors and the generous fan base who participated in fundraisers throughout the year, the Kids 'N Community Foundation donated $560,000 in cash grants to 29 different children's charities and foundations in North Carolina during the 2016-17 season. In addition to the Foundation, the Hurricanes annually contribute to the community in numerous other ways, bringing the team's annual charitable giving to over $1 million in cash and in-kind services. Every member of the Hurricanes organization is actively involved in community activities. The Hurricanes take pride each year in the ability to give back to the community that has supported our organization in so many ways.
