Canes Team Up With YMCA

The NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes are proud to partner with the YMCA to bring the game of hockey to more youth in our community this spring through “Canes Street” presented by Spectrum.

Through this collaboration, the Canes are helping the YMCA launch a new street hockey program designed to introduce young participants to the sport in a fun, inclusive, and accessible way. The long-term vision is to grow this initiative into a fully fledged league, creating more opportunities for kids to stay active, build skills, and develop a love for hockey. As a part of their commitment, the Canes will donate all necessary equipment to ensure every participant has what they need to play. In addition, the Canes Youth & Amateur Hockey Team will provide the YMCA staff and volunteers with hands-on training and resources to help them confidently lead a successful and sustainable hockey program.

Together, this partnership is focused on growing the game, strengthening the community, and creating lasting experiences for young athletes. To register or learn more, click here.

YMCA Track Out Camp Visit

The Carolina Hurricanes Youth & Amateur Hockey team stopped by YMCA Track Out Camp for a fun street hockey clinic! Campers had a great time learning new skills, playing games, and getting a taste of hockey. This visit is part of our effort to grow the game and build future partnerships that bring more youth hockey programming to the community. Huge thanks to the YMCA campers and staff for the energy and enthusiasm!

Canes Street

Developing the next generation of hockey leaders! The Carolina Hurricanes Youth & Amateur Hockey team hosted a coaching training session at Apex Community Park for future Canes Street Hockey coaches. Participants learned the fundamentals of running fun, engaging practices while helping grow the game in their communities. We are excited to see these coaches hit the pavement and inspire the next wave of street hockey players!
