1. Pacific Division Champions
The Golden Knights became the first modern-era expansion team from any of the four North American professional sports leagues to finish first in its division (excluding mergers and all-expansion divisions). Vegas has a 19-4-3 record against Pacific Division teams this season, with three divisional games to go. The Golden Knights also have a 32-11-4 record against the Western Conference.
2. Things to Note
The Golden Knights end their inaugural season with a 29-10-2 home record. The team has 20 points in the month of March, which is their most since December. Eight of their 16 games this month have been on home ice. Shea Theodore started off the scoring tonight and extends their record to 32-5-2 record when scoring the first goal. With the win, Marc-Andre Fleury moves into sole possession of 11th place on the all-time wins list.
3. Wild Bill
William Karlsson has now scored 42 goals since October 21. Karlsson has had six game-winning goals, including his shorthanded goal in the third period tonight. He's had two shorthanded goals in consecutive games and is ranked second in the league with four SHG's overall. Karlsson is currently on a four game point streak and has combined for nine points over the stretch (3G 6A).
