Las Vegas's NHL franchise took its next large step in its march to its first game next October by breaking ground on its practice facility on October 5.
Besides becoming the headquarters for Las Vegas's NHL team, the Summerlin facility will also become a hub for recreational and youth hockey for the people of Southern Nevada.

For a day that will be frozen in time as part of this franchise's beginning, here are the best images from the memorable day when construction began.
