NEW YORK - Joe Manganiello will host the 2017 NHL Awards™ and NHL Expansion Draft™ presented by T-Mobile on June 21 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the National Hockey League (NHL) announced today. The all-in-one event will honor the best hockey players in the world and top performances of the 2016-17 season, and reveal the first members of the NHL's 31st team, the Vegas Golden Knights™, at the franchise's new home. NBCSN and Sportsnet will broadcast the event live in the United States and Canada, respectively, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
Manganiello - a triple threat actor, director and author - will host the NHL Awards™ festivities while broadcasters Daren Millard of Sportsnet and Kathryn Tappenof NBC will emcee the NHL Expansion Draft portion of the event.

"This year, the pairing of the NHL Awards with the NHL Expansion Draft required a host with an equal balance of enthusiasm, energy and appreciation for the game, and we found that in Joe," said NHL Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President Steve Mayer. "With Joe at the helm of the NHL Awards show and Daren and Kathryn sharing the stage for the NHL Expansion Draft, this unique event will offer an enjoyable mix of entertainment and hockey content.

The 2017 NHL Awards™ will honor the top individual regular-season performances in a wide range of categories, including most valuable player (Hart Trophy), outstanding goaltender (Vezina Trophy), outstanding defenseman (Norris Trophy) and outstanding rookie (Calder Trophy). The Ted Lindsay Award, which is presented annually to the "most outstanding player" in the NHL as voted by fellow members of the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA), also will be awarded.
