There was a buzz outside the locker room at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 2, 2019, after the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the New York Rangers, 4-1. Mixed with the lingering excitement of the victory was the rumbling that Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon had acquired Chandler Stephenson from the Washington Capitals in exchange for a 2021 fifth-round pick.
