Pregame Notes: 12/11 Devils vs. Rangers

DEVILS VS. RANGERS
Tonight is the first of four meetings between New Jersey and New York this season. The clubs will meet again next Sunday at Madison Square Garden, before playing their last two matches (Feb. 23 & Mar. 21) at Prudential Center.
The Devils are 2-0-1 vs. the Metropolitan Division and is 6-4-4 against Eastern Conference opponents this season. The Devils were 3-1-0 vs. the Rangers last season and are 3-3-0 against them on the road since the 2013-14 season.
Adam Henrique (1g-4a) and Taylor Hall (3g-2a) each had five points vs. the Rangers in 2015-16.
Cory Schneider started each game for the Devil had a 1.74 GAA and .940 save-percentage.

VP/GM Ray Shero's father, Fred, played three seasons with the Rangers from 1947-50 & served as their Head Coach from 1978-80…John Moore spent parts of three seasons with New York from 2013-15…Cory Schneider played under Rangers' Head Coach Alain Vigneault from 2008-13 when Vigneault served as Head Coach of the Vancouver Canucks…Devils' Assistant General Manager Tom Fitzgerald and Rangers' F Kevin Hayes are cousins…Rangers SVP/Assistant GM Jim Schoenfeld was New Jersey's Head Coach for parts of three seasons from Jan. 26, 1988-Nov. 6 1989.
