On Thursday, January 24, Devils forward Kyle Palmieri experienced something he's never experienced before. He had his first day at an NHL All-Star Weekend.

While the first day was not spent on the ice in San Jose, California, the players' stalls were already prepped, along with having photos of the all-stars around the arena.

For media day, players visited the City National Civic Center where they talked with various news outlets about getting on the ice for this year's NHL All-Star Weekend's events.

Palmieri also talked to the media about getting to this point in his career and those who made it possible from the time he was just a kid playing youth hockey.

Talking about kids, Palmieri had nothing but high praises, and a few jokes, about the younger players currently on the Devils roster.

He reminisced about looking up to certain Devils legends, specifically Patrik Elias, when he was a young player. He also mentioned how tough Ken Daneyko and Scott Stevens looked and how he quite literally looked up to them.

Finally, Palmieri ended the day with meeting Chinese National Team athlete, Zhang Peimeng. Peimeng is both a winter and spring athlete for the Chinese National Team.

On Friday, the all-star players will hop on the ice for the Skills Competition at 9PM ET/6PM PST at SAP Center. The weekend will conclude Saturday with the All-Star Game at 8PM ET/5 PM PST at SAP Center.
