The Devils held two practice sessions on Tuesday. The first group was comprised of players who did not play last night against the Capitals, while the 12 p.m. group was the roster from last night's game.
Lindy Ruff provided an update on several of his injured players, starting with Jack Hughes.
Hughes was injured during the game in Bridgeport, but was able to skate today on his own before the two practice sessions. Ruff has ruled him out for tomorrow night's game at Madison Square Garden, but suggested there is a possibility we see him play at Prudential Center on Thursday, the final preseason game on the schedule.
Damon Severson's availability is less hopeful. Ruff has said he will not play in either of the final two preseason games, while Mackenzie Blackwood and Miles Wood's absence from practice was simply for maintenance days.
