During the pregame ceremony on April 4, Elizabeth Pace, Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation (MSE Foundation) President and Executive Director, will present Lindgren with a check on behalf of MSE Foundation for $20,000 to be split equally between So Kids SOAR and Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. MSE Foundation provided $10,000 of the grant, with Lindy’s Lineup making a $10,000 match. Lindgren will also be presented with the Caps Care Community Award Trophy by Capitals Director of Fan Development Caroline Potolicchio. They will be joined on the ice by Lindgren’s wife, Mikkayla, and daughter, Molly.
Lindgren was heavily involved in the community during the 2025-26 season, including through his participation in his own player program, Lindy’s Lineup. Lindgren hosted several families for game experiences this season at Capital One Arena, which included tickets to the game and a post-game meet and greet with Lindgren.
In 2023, Charlie and Mikkayla created Lindy's Lineup to provide opportunities for youth involved in adaptive sports and for children in special education classrooms. The Lindgrens were inspired to launch this player program based on Mikkayla's background in pediatric occupational therapy.
In January, Lindgren partnered with former teammate Nic Dowd’s “Dowd’s Crowd” to host a joint adaptive skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex for the third consecutive year. The event welcomed participants from So Kids SOAR, an organization dedicated to empowering youth with physical and developmental disabilities through adaptive athletics, recreation, and skill-building programs. Through these initiatives, So Kids SOAR helps participants strive, take ownership, achieve their goals, and realize their full potential.
Lindgren also joined 50 students at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Program in Arlington, Va., for an adaptive hockey physical education class this year. The Shriver Program provides education for secondary-aged students ages 12 to 22 with specialized educational needs and instruction to assist students with adult placement in the community.
Lindgren and fellow Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson participated in the October Saves Goalie Challenge in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The challenge encourages goaltenders nationwide to gather pledges for each save made during the month of October, with proceeds benefiting charity. Following the Capitals’ Hockey Fights Cancer game in November, Lindgren and Thompson met with the top 10 local youth goalies who raised funds through October Saves. Participants from across the region raised $185,000 by participating in October Saves this year.
Lindgren participated in several additional team initiatives throughout season, including a Caps Fight Cancer skate in November, during which the Capitals welcomed cancer warriors and their families to MedStar Capitals Iceplex for a special skate. Posing with his dog, Riley, Lindgrentook part in the annual Caps Canine Calendar, with proceeds benefitting MSE Foundation and Wolf Trap Animal Rescue, which specializes in the rescue of dogs and cats in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Along with his teammates, Lindgren also chipped in for charity at the fourth annual MSE Foundation Caps Fore Charity event.
