Preview - NYI

Following back-to-back shootout losses, the Canadiens play host to the New York Islanders on Wednesday night at the Bell Centre.

Newcomer Mike Reilly will make his Habs debut after being acquired from the Minnesota Wild at the trade deadline.
During his first media opportunity as a member of his new team, the Minnesota native expressed just how thrilled he was to call Montreal his brand new hockey home.
"I think I've played here twice, so it's obviously an unbelievable city and a historic franchise, a city that wants a winning team on the ice, for sure. That comes with the pressure, but I'm excited to be here," said Reilly. "I know Minnesota is a hotbed of hockey, but this is another level. I had a good time in Minnesota, but I'm just ready to start the next chapter here."

For his part, David Schlemko will be a healthy scratch on the back end.
Up front, Andrew Shaw draws back into the lineup after a 19-game absence due to injury. He'll play on a line with Nikita Scherbak and Byron Froese.
Antti Niemi will get the start in goal for the Canadiens. The Finnish netminder has played brilliantly in his last two outings, giving up just four goals on 71 shots against.
Winless in three straight games, the Islanders enter Wednesday night's affair sitting just four points out of a wild card spot.
They should be a well rested group, having last played on Saturday when they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Devils in New Jersey.
Matthew Barzal (66 points), John Tavares (64 points) and Josh Bailey (62 points) will no doubt be the players the Canadiens will have to pay extra close attention to from start to finish.
Jaroslav Halak will be in between the pipes for the Islanders.
Wednesday night's tilt will also mark the Canadiens' "You Can Play Game" which serves to emphasize the importance of respect and inclusion of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans and queer (LGBTQ) communities in sports. Players will demonstrate their support for the initiative by wearing rainbow-colored number jerseys and using rainbow-colored pride tape on their sticks during the pregame warmup.
The two teams last met on January 15, with the Islanders earning a 5-4 win in overtime at the Bell Centre.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on TV on Rogers Sportsnet and RDS, as well as on the radio on TSN 690 and 98,5 fm.
