This year's edition of the Canadiens and country music go together like thunder and lightning.

That runs especially true for 21-year-old defenseman Kaiden Guhle.
For eight months a year, more often than not, it's Guhle and the Canadiens' stars who put on a show at the Bell Centre, but when the biggest names in country music come to town, the roles are reversed.
The players' love for country music is no secret and their reoccurring appearances at country concerts in Montreal is proof of it.

Guhle, a native of Edmonton, AB, has planted his seed as one of the Canadiens' cowboys of the future - a title Carey Price held for as long as memory serves.
So, we thought who better to ask than the Habs' standout rookie to put together a country music playlist.
The results are in.
As the album cover would suggest, Morgan Wallen paced the playlist with two songs, while Luke Combs - a name some of the players became even more familiar with last November - also appeared twice on the list.

Guhle's personalized soundtrack is characterized by calming tunes like Chris Stapleton's Starting Over and Combs' Love You Anyway, reflective of his poise on the ice. On the other hand, upbeat songs like Party Mode by Dustin Lynch and Whiskey On You by Nate Smith are indicative of the rearguard's endless energy on the blue line.
And of course, it wouldn't be a Canadiens country playlist without the Canadian country queen herself, Shania Twain. Shania's Man! I Feel Like A Woman!, a watershed tune in the nation's country music history, is representative of the D-man's flair for the dramatic.

The Canadian contingent also includes JoJo Mason, Dean Brody and Alberta-based band High Valley.

The second edition of LASSO, Montreal's inaugural country music festival, will run from August 15-16 at Parc Jean-Drapeau.
