Carey-Price

MONTREAL - It was back in August that we told you about Carey Price being featured in the
brand new Indigenous Sport Gallery
at the BC Sports Hall of Fame in BC Place.

The exhibit, which opened in late September, celebrates and recognizes Indigenous and First Nations athletes who've made an impact on the province's sport history.
During our stay in Vancouver, we paid a visit to the facility to check out the case dedicated to the Habs' starter and his accomplishments.
All of the items on display - including a Canadiens jersey, mask, blocker and trapper, goalie stick and a framed print - were graciously loaned to the BCSHOF by Price and his parents, Lynda and Jerry.
The Indigenous Sport Gallery features more than 1,000 square feet of space at the BCSHOF, with 16 large display cases.
Now, have a look at a few photographs we took while we were on-site in the Lower Mainland.

Price's First Nations roots come from his mother. The former chief of British Columbia's Ulkatcho First Nation, Lynda was the first woman elected to the Union of BC Indian Chiefs' executive council.
After obtaining her law degree in 2015, she currently works in Anahim Lake, BC as an advocate for restorative justice initiatives on behalf of First Nations groups.
No doubt both she and Jerry were all smiles after watching their son's 36-save performance against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday afternoon at Rogers Arena, as the Canadiens wrapped up their three-game Western Canada road trip in style.

The pair was also in attendance for Friday's practice session at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre on the campus of the University of British Columbia.
