BostonBruins.com -Bruins 2019 first-round pick Johnny Beecher got on the board with his first goal of the season in the University of Michigan's 5-2 victory over Wisconsin on Thursday in Madison. The 19-year-old finished off a feed from Jimmy Lambert at the doorstep for a power-play tally at 3:58 of the third period that gave the Wolverines a 4-2 advantage.
"We were just doing our jobs," Beecher told the media after the win. "We've got to get moving around a little bit, confuse them. We were getting pucks on net…Jimmy made an unbelievable look to me in the middle of the slot. Things were clicking."

Beecher posted nine goals and 17 points during his freshman campaign in 2019-20.
Fellow Wolverine and Bruins draft pick Jack Becker has two assists in four games. The senior forward is one of Michigan's four captains this season.

Lohrei Coming Through

Mason Lohrei, the B's top pick in the 2020 NHL Draft (58th overall), has five points in five games for the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL. The Wisconsin native has potted two goals, both of which have been game-winners. The first came on Nov. 12 against Youngstown as the 6-foot-4 blue liner creeped in from the point and buried a feed from fellow Bruins prospect Jake Schmaltz from the top of the crease to put Green Bay ahead, 4-3, with 3:44 to go.
Two nights later, Lohrei was at it again when he threaded home a wrister through traffic to give Green Bay a 5-4 lead with 3:18 remaining. The 18-year-old also picked up an assist on Schmaltz's goal in the second period, earning him first star honors.
Schmaltz, selected in the seventh round by the Bruins in 2019, also has five points (two goals, three assists) in five games for Green Bay this season. The 19-year-old, who will play for the University of North Dakota next season, also signed his national letter of intent last week.

Bychkov has played 19 games for Buran Voronezh this season, collecting four points (goal, three assists).

Lauko Lights Lamp

Boston's 2018 third-round pick, Jakub Lauko, picked up his second goal of the season on Friday with a blast from the top of the slot to give Karlovy Vary HC a 2-1 lead. The 20-year-old is on loan in his native Czechia and has five points in nine games.

Steen Stays Hot

Oskar Steen has continued his torrid start to the season with Bjorkloven IF in Sweden. The 22-year-old, on loan from Providence, has 10 goals and 13 points in 15 games, including an assist and the game-winner in a shootout over Vasterviks IK over the weekend.
