BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeneyannounced today, March 21, that the team has signed Harvard defenseman Wiley Shermanto a two-year entry-level contract, beginning with the 2018-19 season. Sherman will join the Providence Bruins on an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.
Sherman, 22, appeared in 33 games as a senior for Harvard in 2017-18, tallying three goals and four assists for seven points. The 6-foot-7, 220-pound defenseman helped lead the Crimson to an ECAC title as a junior in 2016-17 after establishing a career high with 13 assists in 36 games. In his sophomore season, he set a career high with four goals to go along with six assists in 31 games. Sherman played in all 37 games as a true freshman in 2014-15, posting three assists to help lead Harvard to an ECAC title.
