Bruins Move Acciari To Regular Recall; Assign Kuraly

TORONTO, ON -Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, March 20, that the team has transitioned forward Noel Acciari from emergency recall to regular recall and has assigned forward Sean Kuraly to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.
Acciari, 25, has appeared in 19 games with Boston in 2016-17, recording two assists for two points with four penalty minutes. He has also skated in 30 games with Providence this season, tallying six goals and eight assists for 14 points with 11 penalty minutes and a plus-eight rating.
The 5-foot-10, 208-pound forward has skated in 38 career NHL games with the Bruins over the past two seasons, compiling three assists and 12 penalty minutes. He played 45 games in his first professional season with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2015-16, registering seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points with 19 penalty minutes and a plus-12 rating. Acciari also skated in three postseason contests with Providence, scoring one goal and two assists with four penalty minutes and a plus-one rating.
The Johnston, Rhode Island native was originally signed by the Bruins as a free agent on June 8, 2015.
Kuraly, who is in his first full professional season with the Bruins organization in 2016-17, has skated in five games with Boston this year, making his NHL debut on November 3, 2016. The 24-year-old forward has also appeared in 50 games with Providence, producing 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points and 31 penalty minutes and a plus-eight rating.
Kuraly served as captain at Miami University (Ohio) in 2015-16, posting six goals and 17 assists for 23 points in 36 games. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward recorded a career high in goals and tied a career high in points during the 2014-15 season with the RedHawks, scoring 19 goals and adding 10 assists for 29 points in 40 games. Over his four-year collegiate career, Kuraly skated in 154 games, producing 43 goals and 50 assists for 93 points with 177 penalty minutes.
Kuraly was originally drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the fifth round (133th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The Dublin, Ohio native was acquired by the Bruins, along with a 2016 first-round draft pick, in a trade with San Jose in exchange for goaltender Martin Jones on June 30, 2015.
