Spooner placed on IR; Backes activated from IR; McIntyre recalled on emergency

BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeneyannounced today, October 19, the following transactions:
Forward Ryan Spooner has been placed on injured reserve (right groin adductor tear).
Forward David Backes (diverticulitis) has been activated from injured reserve and is eligible to play in tonight's game vs. Vancouver.
Goaltender Zane McIntyre has been recalled from Providence on an emergency basis. McIntyre has compiled a 2-1-0 record with a 2.35 goals against average and .914 save percentage in three games with Providence this season.
