BOSTON -The Boston Bruins announced today, February 2, that they have partnered with the Boston Fire Hockey Club and Boston Police Hockey Club to host the inaugural 6 City Classic Battle of the Badges hockey tournament from February 2-4 featuring the police and fire hockey teams from Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, New York, and Toronto. The first of its kind in the city of Boston, the tournament will serve as a friendly competition among these six historic cities.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, Executive Director of the Boston Bruins Foundation Bob Sweeney, and Boston Fire Commissioner Joe Finnwill be on hand at Murphy Memorial Rink in South Boston on Saturday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m. to celebrate this one of a kind event.
The first round of games will take place Friday, February 2. The police division will play at Devine Memorial Rink in Dorchester. Boston Police Commissioner Williams Evans will be in attendance at the 11:00 a.m. game. Game schedule is as follows:
10:00 a.m. Toronto Police vs. MA State Police
11:00 a.m. Boston Police vs. Detroit Police
12:00 p.m. MA State Police vs. Chicago Police
1:00 p.m. Detroit Police vs. Toronto Police
2:00 p.m. Boston Police vs. Chicago Police
The fire division will play at Murphy Memorial Rink (1880 William J Day Blvd, Boston, MA 02127). Game schedule is as follows:
11:00 a.m. Boston Fire vs. Toronto Fire
12:00 p.m. FDNY vs. Detroit Fire
1:00 p.m. Boston Fire vs. Montreal Fire
2:00 p.m. Toronto Fire vs. Detroit Fire
3:00 p.m. FDNY vs. Montreal Fire
Saturday, February 3 will consist of a mix of fire and police games:
11:00 a.m. Chicago Police vs. Detroit Police
12:00 p.m. Boston Fire vs. Detroit Fire
1:00 p.m. MA State Police vs. Montreal Fire
2:00 p.m. FDNY vs. Toronto Fire
3:00 p.m. Toronto Police vs. Boston Police
On Sunday, February 4 the championship game will take place at 11:00 a.m. at Warrior Ice Arena. The winners of both the fire and police divisions will be determined by how few goals a team allows.
The weekend will also be highlighted by cocktail receptions and dinners which will provide the first responders the opportunity to meet other first responders from the different cities.
